Jaipur, India

Jaipur the pink city was pretty nice for a shortstop but not one of my favorite places. The city was really quite dirty, and the dust in the air was horrible when I was there. But the hostel I stayed at this time was 100x better than New Delhi thanks to Booking.com. Also it was really easy to visit the official tourist office at the train station and book the day tour they offer.

The tour was actually pretty nice and let me see a lot of great stuff just outside of the city. Temples, Forts, Palaces it was all pretty cool and the tour was actually pretty cheap making it a great deal. As always in India make sure you only go to the official tourist office at the train station or your hotel to book anything.

Walking around the pink city and along its streets will be a very interesting time. This is where some of the gritty India is, its not clean thats for sure. But if you’re looking to see some of the real India this is a good place to do it. Get deep into the back streets and walk among the locals. Try to avoid the shops along the main streets they are more touristy. Also if you have any interest in buying bangles this is the place to do it. There are countless shops here selling bangles since the area is famous for them.
