Krakow, Poland

Krakow was the biggest surprise of the entire trip I expected nothing going in and was shocked at absolutely how amazing the city really is. Krakow has a rich history and mostly survived world war 2 untouched which helped preserve the city in its original glory, and what a glory it is.

Krakow is seriously one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Even more so than Amsterdam which is known for its canals and beauty. When people ask I tell them if I was to have my honeymoon anywhere in Europe the first place we would go is Krakow. The city is simply magical and incredibly romantic.

The people there were incredibly friendly and genuinely happy to have you there. The hostel I was at offered you free family dinner every night and even had movie nights. They got to know everyone there and knew you by name. This really added to experience since you got to see how nice the Polish people really are even though you’re in something like a hostel.

While there you are also a easy day trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and the Auschwitz concentration camp. The salt mine is incredibly fun since its entirely carved out of salt stone, you can lick the walls! Auschwitz is one of the most famous concentration camps of world war 2. Its really a sobering experience but its something you really need to visit to truly get a grasp of just how bad things were in world war 2.
