Vienna, Austria

Vienna was one of my favorite cities in Europe. The hostel I was staying at his near the Nash market so there was a lot of diversity in the area. Every day it seemed like I went into the market and had a falafel sandwich for lunch and grabbed snacks for later. In fact one of the best things about Vienna was its diversity there were a lot of Middle Eastern and Chinese immigrants that it moved to the city. Which was interesting because I didn’t see this in other countries that I’ve traveled through so far.

I stayed in Vienna for one week and every day I had something to do. The city itself looked amazing in the small neighborhoods that you would find were just as interesting. I would be walking down the street I would randomly come across the Christmas market or even a small chocolate shop. It seemed like everything was very close and that everybody knew each other even though the city is quite large.

It was here that I went to one of my first couch surfing events. It was held in a small Turkish café that was really hard to find. But the people I met there were some of the friendliest and I met in my travels. Since it was a younger crowd everyone there was a student at the University and spoke perfect English. But they were not all Austrian in fact most of the students were from other European countries which also showed the diversity of Vienna. I had such a great time at night that I considered moving to Vienna to get my masters degree. The city just has a really great feeling to it and the Austrians are famous for their relaxed coffee shop culture. It’s one of the few places I visited that I would definitely move to if given the chance.
